Today was another fantastic chat in our ‘Educator Entrepreneurs’ series. Ryan Rasar started his career as an architect before going back to school for his teaching license. He moved to teach in an online school before moving to admin to become an IT manager for the school. In his spare time, he founded stemqwest.com, a website selling STEM lessons. We talk about a lot of things including:
- What it's like working for an online school
- How Ryan had a huge growth in business in the recent Covid19 crisis
- How Ryan has now grown his business to the point where he could leave his job but how he likes his work and colleagues so keeps working there
- Ryan's advice for budding educator entrepreneurs
I hope you enjoyed the podcast and if you did please leave us an iTunes review it really means a lot to us!

I met Miika in Helsinki a few years ago. He’s an interesting guy: Teacher, game developer, and also sings in a Hardcore Punk band! I was interested to learn more about the highly-rated Finnish education system and what it’s like to be a teacher there. We then talk about why Mikka decided to go down the entrepreneurial route with his company https://lorugames.com/ . We talk about developing educational games and entrepreneurship in general, including why teachers have a huge advantage when it comes to making products and services for schools.
I hope you enjoyed the podcast and if you did please leave us a podcast review or YouTube comment it really means a lot to us!

Featuring: Mel Varga
Macao is a fascinating place: A former Portuguese colony and a ’Special Administrative Region’ of China, located close to Hong Hong. Mel Varga is the Technology Integration Coordinator at the International School of Macao and a long term resident.
Mel talks about living and working in Macao and there is some really good information for anyone considering living there. Next we discuss the return to school ‘post-COVID’ as Macao is one of the first places to have students return to school. This is useful information for educators in Europe as they look towards the return to school.
