We talk about his career path and transitioning from being a music teacher to a tech leader. Featuring: Doug Bradburn
Doug has had a really interesting route to International School leadership. He joined the Navy and also worked as a high school football coach in the US. Doug moved to Taiwan to take on a teaching position and eventually moved up to become a Principal. Doug gives a lot of lessons about the mindset and attitude that helped him achieve this. We also talk about the reality and stresses of such a position, which is really useful information for anyone thinking that this is a route they want to follow.
We also discuss living in Taiwan: The differences between Taipei and Taichung and generally what it’s like for families, sports & social life. We get into learning Chinese and the challenges involved.

Today was another fantastic chat in our ‘Educator Entrepreneurs’ series. Ryan Rasar started his career as an architect before going back to school for his teaching license. He moved to teach in an online school before moving to admin to become an IT manager for the school. In his spare time, he founded stemqwest.com, a website selling STEM lessons. We talk about a lot of things including:
- What it's like working for an online school
- How Ryan had a huge growth in business in the recent Covid19 crisis
- How Ryan has now grown his business to the point where he could leave his job but how he likes his work and colleagues so keeps working there

Daniela is a Tech Director for an international school in Lima, Peru who has also worked in Ecuador, China and Qatar. We talk about her background and what it was like to live in each of her locations.
